to the New York's Taxi and Limousine Commission Chairman David Yassky, selecting Nissan's car as NYC's future taxis is a very bad decision. It is narrower than the other designs, it is not designed for wheelchairs, and it looks like a prison truck which small windows. bad choice man really bad choice. I'd definitely go with karsan's design : http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/n.php?n=karsan-in-race-to-produce-taxis-for-big-apple-2010-07-23

to nick from New York, as a new yorker, i do not want to get into an asian or middle-east country made taxi. i am fine with if you are buying for your own, but come one, it is for all people live in new york city. for me ford was the right choice
as I know Ford Transit Connect is also made in Turkey. But i agree, they should have chosen an American car not a Japanese for New York City . Especially when you think about we have billions of dollars deficit
i agree, it is completely a bad choice, Nissan's doesn't look like a taxi from the future for New York :).. also just googled, it seems karsan's engine is american, also they promised to produce in Brooklyn. Here is the link: http://www.autoblog.com/2011/04/28/report-turkish-firm-karsan-pledges-to-build-ny-taxi-in-brooklyn/
what does New York Taxi and Limousine Commission do. didn't the most of New Yorkers picked Karsan in public surveys, I want it I want it
Is Karsan real or just a prototype? Because if it is real check out the link I put, it looks really cool; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cd8IK-Bzw1g&feature=player_embedded but still I prefer an American made.
Nissan is a good choice for NYC, it has the wider interior than the others, also their services spread all u.s..
